About

Hello there! We are needing helping hands at our school Sunset Valley Elementary! As of right now, we have 3 small gardens and an entire school eager to learn. Our biggest garden, the Hacienda Garden, was once flourishing but was invaded by Bermuda grass this past summer. It now isn't housing any plants what so ever. Last month we started the process of sod cutting the area, uprooting the grass, laying down cardboard, and mulching the area. We are 1/3 completed with the project. We are eligible to get all the necessary equipment, we just need the people power! The idea for the Hacienda Garden is to be established as a food forest for our families. Up until last year, our school was considered Title 1, so as you can see a food forest for our families would be much appreciated. The plans for the future garden have already been outlined with 11 beds, trellis', a teepee, and a geometrically made herb spiral. We would love for you to be involved in our vision!
