About

To apply for this role, please email your website/social media/blog and examples of your photography to lindsay.loftin@austintexas.gov The shifts are locked and a code will be provided to selected photographers.

We need two or three photographers to volunteer their time to photograph the activities, parade, and costume contest on February 18th from 10 - 2.

Photographers will need to:

  • Get all photographed members of the public to sign a release waiver, always ask if it's ok to take a photo before you take one. We cannot use photos that are taken of people whom we do not have waivers from. You will need to turn your waivers in to Lindsay Loftin, the Culture & Arts Education Specialist for the Zilker Botanical Garden at the end of the festival day. They are printed on paper and you will be provided with a clipboard and pen with which to collect signatures.
  • Walk around the event and take photos for the duration of the event.
  • We specifically want photos of: the craft and science activity tables, the volunteers setting up/sitting at tables before the event, the marching band and parade at 1 pm (people listening and the performers themselves/parading), people enjoying the garden, and the dinosaur costume contest.

Your name will be on a volunteer list at the front gate, park in volunteer parking and walk to the Hartman Prehistoric Garden. Pick up the photo waivers, an event photographer badge, and check in with Lindsay Loftin the event coordinator. The gate staff should walkie Lindsay to inform her of your arrival.
