About
Born in New Spain (now Mexico) in 1651, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz was a nun who wrote what is considered the first feminist manifesto. Every year we celebrate the talent and accomplishments of Mexican Women by showcasing the works female artists and performers.
To kick off this year's tribute celebration, an art gallery opening reception will be on April 13th. This years celebration will feature fantastical works by Marlene Llanes, April Garcia, Tony Bravo, Teatro Espacio Agua Viva, Julie Slim and the Rendez Vous Band. Sam Z. Coronado and Community galleries will be open for viewing until 7pm.
Volunteers for this event will be working directly with community members greeting, ushering, answering questions, setting up for event, striking down and ensuring that participants are engaged.
