SUMMARY: Washington County Veterans Services mission is to honor and improve the quality of life for the veterans, survivors and dependents throughout Washington County by providing exemplary veteran advocacy, information and access to benefits earned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following: 1. Assist Veterans in finding services throughout the county that meet their specific needs. 2. Assist Veterans in calling service providers throughout the community and helping set appointments with the providers. 3. Assist veterans in Setting up Ebenefits and MyHealthyVet accounts and processing requests through them. 4. Monitor Computer usage and assist veterans in navigating Websites and using word Processing applications when possible. 5. Assist Veteran Service Officers as able to process non-sensitive requests and any other duties that may be assigned. OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: The incumbent must possess good written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills. Good organizational skills, as well as basic computer literacy and a knowledge of general office machines such as calculator, photocopier, FAX, and printer, are helpful. Position sometimes requires contact with severely physically and/or emotionally disabled persons.
