EVENT DETAILS: Join the Austin Organic Gardeners (AOG) in maintaining the Community Teaching Garden.
** From June 1st to August 31st, the garden gate will open at 8 am. From September 1st to May 31st, the garden gate will open at 9 am. **
When you arrive at the garden, show your GivePulse confirmation email to the gate staff at check-in to receive free admission for the day. If you do not have a smart phone please bring a printed copy of your confirmation email, or you can sign a physical waiver at the gate when you arrive.
SAFETY: Bring water, gloves and sun protection. We will have tools on hand to share, but if you've got a lucky trowel feel free to bring it!
VOLUNTEER PARKING: Drive through paved parking lot, past the public restroom, and then through the orange cones down a dirt road. Park by the green house and white shed on the left, you should see other cars parked there.
TEACHING GARDEN LOCATION: The garden beds are in the Pioneer Village next to the red Blacksmith Shop. MAP
ACTIVITIES: No garden experience necessary - AO Gardeners are happy to teach and instruct! Tasks will include seasonal activities such as planting, harvesting, weeding, pruning, mulching and composting.
