The organization of Gamma Beta Phi was charted on March 22, 1964 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Today, the National headquarters are in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Gamma Beta Phi has grown into a nation-wide network of over 85 chapters representing 16 different states. The University of Texas chapter is one of 139 chapters across the United States collegiate population. Thousands of new members are inducted into Gamma Beta Phi each year. Currently, there are 40,000 active student members dedicating their time to service, scholastics, and social bonds. Gamma Beta Phi Texas chapter honors more than 450 undergrad to doctoral UT students who have demonstrated a history of academic excellence as well as an initiative to make a difference, professionally and personally. These students are the ones making a difference in our now and for our future.
