Greetings Friends of Balcones Park! I just wanted to drop a note that we are looking for additional volunteers for It's My Park Day on March 5, 2022. Please consider coming out to help mulch trees, maintain trails and clean up the park. We could also use leaders in the following areas
-Mulch coordinators - show folks how to get mulch to the trees without trampling wildflowers, how to mulch properly, etc.
-Seed lead - guide volunteers to areas in the park and along the trail that need more groundcover to control erosion and beautify the trail.
-Invasive species removal - help volunteers identify and remove invasive plants like nandina, ligustrum, chinaberry & johnson grass

If you are interested in leading a team, even if you can't stay for the entire event, please let me know.

Thanks to those of you have already signed up - and to all who support the park. Hope to see you there!
Sincerely, Erik Harris, 512-560-7686 (text or call!)
Greetings Friends of Balcones Park!
It's My Park Day is just around the corner, but I want to alert you to the latest challenges for our park.
Starting 9/30/19 the city is about to make some repairs of the worst defects in the newly constructed trail in the park, but is refusing to address the continuing migration of gravel, improper slope stabilization and spreading of cracks in the pavement, Please see the Milwood NA website for more information and how to help - http://milwoodna.com/
