Assisted my organization (HBSA) further with their other tutoring services at Oak Hill Elementary school. During that time period we provide reading comprehension assistance to students from 1st grade to 3rd grade. I specifically assisted ESL students as I am fluent in Spanish. It was really fulfilling giving to these students as these lessons really go a long way in their education career.

I joined my organization (HBSA) by visiting Akins High School that morning to provide tutoring services to students ranging from 9th grade to 12th grade. I specifically assisted 12th graders taking AP Calculus and assisted them with their homework or any test review questions they had. It was an impacting experience since it reminded me of my concerns as a high school student. It was great talking to them about college them as well and inspiring to apply wherever despite of their limitations.

Volunteered for the Austin's Marathon on Valentine's day with the Hispanic Business Student Association. Arriving early in the morning we assisted the runners by checking them in and making sure their gear was checked-in and they were ready for the race. Halfway through my shift we went to the finish line and prepared the gatorade for the runners as they finished the race. It was overall a great experience congratulating the runners and providing them a drink of nourishment as they accomplished a great achievement.
While being an officer for a week, we participated in community service events. We went to our adopted street for the Hispanic Business Student Association. Located in Oltorf St. and Pleasant Valley, we picked up waste in the side of streets to keep the sidewalks cleared out for pedestrians. It was a great experience as over 20 members participated and helped impact our local community.

While also serving President-For-A-Week for my organization we had the greatest opportunity to volunteer at Oak Hill Elementary School. During the service event, we were able to assist first grade students on their reading comprehensive skills. We would pull them aside from class and read books while helping them pronounce and enunciate words. We later proctored computer workshops for the students and ran a reading program which further helps with their reading and technology skills.
