    Webb Middle School School

I attended a community fair at WebB Middle school which brought in different resources to help the community such as free flu shots, college info, healthcare information, resources for minorities and support post election. I gave a presentation on how undocumented students can still go to college regardless of immigration status. I met with parents and their children and guided them through college application process.

    DEEP Forum at Round Rock

This forum was intended to help undocumented students lear about the financial process and the extra steps they would need to take in order to qualify for state aid. This wasn't the only forum Ive been to in regards to presenting this information and even though at this one no student showed it reminded me of how students believe that they are not able to make it, and how so many volunteers are willing to give their time no matter how many students may or may not show up.

I helped filled out applications for undocumented individuals. IT was nice to see how a group of students/community members were able to come together to give a service to the immigrant community and make them feel empowered.

    DACA Clinic May 2, 2015

This last DACA clinic of the summer, I was able to train another person to collect the stories of the individuals who attended our clinic. I was able to show them how instead of asking straight up questions to speak as if you were having a conversation. I enjoyed teaching others how to talk to individuals and make them comfortable with speaking about personal issues.

    DACA Clinic April 18, 2015

Here, I was given the opportunity to collect personal stories of those who were applying for DACA or renewing their already in existing status. I talked to many different individuals and families who to my surprise came from different backgrounds, and was able to take note of the many challenges they have faced and truly overcome, I got to network with many people and get their contact info for use int he near future for our social events/celebrations.

    DACA Clinic February 28, 2015

I have volunteered at many DACA clinics and I do truly enjoy doing so. I learn so much about what is going in the country in regards to immigration issues and learn so much about individuals themselves. At this first clinic of the semester I worked registration where I had to sign the people in who were going to get their application filled out and reviewed. I was able to speak to the people first and give them that first impression of our organization, I was also there for checkout where I was able to give more information in depth to what our organization did as a whole both in Spanish and English.

    DACA Clinic December 6, 2014

A DACA clinic is more than just a clinic in which we fill out DACA applications for low income families. We provide assurance that they do not have to spend hundreds of dollars to get a so-called high class lawyer you do their application. As we have these clinics we try to bring the community together in helping each other with such tasks; and as one we grow into a much brighter future.

TechComunidad - Ending the Digital Divide @ Dove Springs

This event was such a great experience, as a bilingual volunteer I was honored to be able to help and guide parents through the process of opening, sending, and creating a gmail account. It was wonderful to see parents come out wanting to learn about today's technology.
