About
Patient visitor:
Share your friendship with patients or family members at a nursing home or private home close to you. Volunteer training is required and provided. Patient visitors are not expected to provide personal care but being friendly with great listening skills is key. Volunteers may read to patients, play board games, play soothing music or provide soothing touch. Walk someone's dog or even do yard work if that is your hobby. Visit times are flexible and at a location near you. Elite Hospice serves entire Northwest Arkansas, and our office is located in Springdale.
Other volunteer opportunities:
Caregiver relief: Sit with the patient up to 4 hours to provide respite for the Caregiver. Volunteers do not provide personal care to patients but are a watchful eye over the patient while their Caregiver goes grocery shopping, has a Dr. appointment, etc.
Administrative Assistant: Help with various administrative duties at our Elite Hospice office. e.g sorting, copying, laminating, copying, scanning.
Music Therapists: Play soothing music to patients and families in care facilities.
Licensed Beautician: Provide simple haircuts and nail care to hospice patients.
Licensed or Certified Integrative therapy: Reiki, Massage, Aroma, etc.
Pet Therapist: Share the love of your licensed therapy pet with hospice patients and family members.
Craft specialists: Sew, crochet or knit a variety of needed crafts like adult bibs, lap blankets, shawls, slippers, etc.
The Volunteer Program Because everyone has unique talents and skills, volunteer tasks are assigned based on what you enjoy doing. Most volunteer opportunities are flexible in time, but we ask volunteers to commit to at least 6 months.
Volunteer training and educational volunteer in-services are being provided by Elite Hospice throughout the year.
What is hospice? Hospice is a specialized type of care designed to provide support to those facing a life-limiting illness, their families and their caregivers. Hospice care addressed the patient's physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs. The goal is to raise the patient's quality of life in a humane and compassionate way so they may live each day pain-free, with as much comfort and dignity as possible.
Elite Hospice: We are committed to providing an all-encompassing approach to end-of-life care. The hospice team supports patients and their families through the work of physicians, nurses, nurse aids, social workers, chaplains, bereavement specialists and volunteers. We serve Springdale and the surrounding communities.
